Men’s Huddle

Men,

God has called you to greatness!  It is time to stop being passive and COMMIT YOUR WAY TO THE LORD!

Psalm 37:5 – “Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass”.

The name has changed, formerly as Men’s Prayer, now it is Men’s Huddle!

Why the name change?

The Men’s Ministry is committed to prayer, but it is more than that.  Men are called to “HUDDLE” together and do the following:

  1. COMMITMENT:  Men we are to be committed to the Lord first, our families, each other, our friends and our community.  As Psalm 37:5 says ” Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass”.  Just as a football team huddles together before a play to discuss the next steps,  they are committed to move the ball down the field successfully.
  2. STRATEGIC: A plan is formed an then executed.  Psalm 37:23-24 says “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand”.  A team is committed to working together and being very strategic, moving forward not backward.  The River Men’s Ministry is committed  to discipleship, prayer, and encouragement.  A team must have BOLDNESS, and expose the lies of the enemy.  A team must have an IDENTITY, knowing who they are always, even when things get TOUGH!
  3. FOCUS: A team focuses on the goal ahead.  They work together and focus on the strengths of each of their teammates.  The team focuses on a plan.  Proverbs 29:18 says “Where there is no vision, the people parish”.  That is serious.  The Men’s Ministry remains focused not on just meeting together on occasion, but daily encouraging each other, praying for each other and HUDDLING together, TO KNOW CHRIST AND MAKE HIM KNOWN!
  4. CELEBRATE:  Together we celebrate the victories!  Everyday Christ is setting Men free from addictions, unhealthy habits, financial debts etc.  When we FOCUS on the Lord and His goodness, meditating on His Word day and night, the TRUTH will set us FREE!!  Hebrews 10:25 says “not forsaking to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day of Christ’s return approaching”.  Proverbs 27:17 says “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend”.
